XZero City aims to set a new benchmark in eco-friendly hospitality
URB, a global leader in developing sustainable cities, has unveiled the designs for XZero City, a planned sustainable community providing a net zero carbon lifestyle for 100,000 residents in Kuwait.
A community development spread over 1,600 hectares in Kuwait, XZero City will promote sustainable tourism through its eco-friendly hospitality assets, including a five-star eco resort and lodges.
According to a statement from URB, the development will comprise 30,000 residential units, and provide 30,000 green jobs, which will be created in various sectors including medical, tourism, technology, educational, retail and entertainment.
XZero will promote sustainable tourism through its edutainment attractions including the utility park and a nature conservation centre.
The masterplan was devised using passive design strategies that work in harmony with the environment, as well as what’s known as ‘green’ and ‘blue’ infrastructure to create a sustainable development that requires the least financial investment.
Speaking about the mega project, CEO Baharash Bagherian said: “It is a new paradigm in green urban living and a new benchmark model for the next generation of sustainable cities. As a self-sufficient city, XZero will provide all the resident’s caloric food intake on site through its productive landscape.”
