    What Tanabe, Japan, is teaching world about responsible tourism

    The earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disasters that hit Japan in 2011 were followed by an estimated drop in tourism numbers of 90% across Japan. However a unique model of grassroots, community-run tourism development that had  recently introduced in  the city of Tanabe saw the region rebound far quicker than elsewhere.
