IHG is to open the Hotel Indigo Dubai in The Sustainable City, a new urban project that is described as “Dubai’s first sustainable integrated development”. According to IHG, the hotel will be a Net Zero energy building. All energy will be from solar power. All waste and waste water will be recycled. And a solar powered by will be available to connect guests to downtown Dubai.

1: The Sustainable City will include homes, a green school, solar covered parking lots and an organic farm suppling food to the community.
2: IHG has 18 hotels in the U.A.E., with a further 10 hotels due to open in the next five years.
