Southwest Airlines invests in Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Southwest Airlines has created a venture capital arm geared toward helping the carrier secure sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). 

The subsidiary, Southwest Airlines Renewable Ventures (SARV), has announced its first investment: $30 million for SAF producer LanzaJet, which recently opened a Georgia-based refinery billed as the world’s first ethanol-to-SAF production facility.
