Today we launch our biggest development yet, Travindy Espanol. For the last few months we’ve been working with three Spanish-language responsible tourism experts to create an equivalent site to Travindy for the vast Spanish market.
The underlying principle is the same as for the original English version. Travindy Espanol brings together all the best Spanish-language news and comment about responsible tourism in one place.
As Ángela Rodríguez, Gabriela Alvarado and Pablo Pereira, our three new editors, explain: “the international arrivals have grown by 4.4% in 2015, reaching 1,184 million tourists. We need to bring as much information as possible to the tourism industry about how to better address social, environmental, economic and governance issues in our daily operations. Travindy Espanol will be the place to find the most important news on these subjects from around the world.”
In addition to curating essential Spanish language news; where there is no Spanish article but there is a story that needs to be read, our writers will translate news and comment from our original English language website. We will also be doing the same the other way round, translating stories appearing on our Spanish site that you might not otherwise have had the chance to read.
There are also a new dedicated Facebook page and Twitter account focussed only on the Spanish version. Please like and follow them both.
We will also be launching a Spanish language newsletter in the coming weeks, which you can subscribe to from inside Travindy Espanol.
We’d love to know what you think about Travindy Espanol.
Please get in touch with any ideas you have for how we can improve it, and if you would like to get involved, partner with us, or if you’d like to work with us to develop editions of Travindy in other languages, we’d love to chat about that too….
