Global Destination Sustainability Index launches "the first-ever sustainability ranking for event destinations worldwide" to help business travel become more sustainable
European tourist destinations are to be recognised for their standout performance in tracking and enhancing sustainability and accessibility at the Joint ETIS and Accessible Tourism Awards hosted by the European Commission.
Since it was launched in February last year, 'Compassionate Kozhikode' has been the subject of regular national and international media coverage. World Travel Market in London recently described the initiative as a “groundbreaking destination project.”
The program aims to increase tourism expenditures, employment and income; promote disaster and climate resilience and environmental sustainability in tourism destinations; and create enabling conditions for private sector investment in overnight tourism.
