EarthCheck, an environmental management and international business advisory group headquartered in Australia, won the prestigious 2017 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards in the Business Services Category on Thursday 19th October. Announcing the winners at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the benefits of trade are exponential and the awards are evidence of how dynamic and innovative the Queensland economy has become.
“Exports support one in five Queensland jobs, with increased trade in goods and services predicted to be the key driver of economic growth in Queensland over the next few years,” Ms Palaszczuk said. EarthCheck will now become a National finalist at the 55th Australian Export Awards which will be held in Canberra on the 5th of December.
Chief Executive Officer for the Export Council of Australia (ECA) Lisa McAuley said the Awards reward businesses that have shown a commitment and determination to grow their export business and also seek innovative ways to compete on the international stage. This year EarthCheck celebrates 30 years of being in the business of assisting enterprises and destinations across the world to help address the twin challenges of climate change and the need to reduce their environmental footprint.
“Our key point of difference continues to be our deep data set of global performance measures covering 15 years of operational data and our patented software which delivers benchmarking, carbon reporting and helps operators to understand how they can reduce costs and improve business efficiency,” EarthCheck CEO, Stewart Moore said. “EarthCheck’s patented software and products have now been translated into six languages and are now delivered to more than 70 countries and across 32 sectors.”
During the past two years EarthCheck has established strategic global partnerships in Latin America, Asia and Europe. In September, EarthCheck won the 2017 Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) Innovation in Tourism Award for their Building Planning and Design Standard (BPDS) which provides operators and architects with an integrated assessment tool and guidelines to help them achieve more energy efficient buildings and service infrastructure.
“The EarthCheck Building and Design Standard takes a holistic approach to the design of tourism infrastructure which allows our team to work together with our clients to deliver tailor-made, real-world sustainability design solutions,” Mr Moore said.
Recently, EarthCheck was a finalist in the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Awards – Doing Business in Asia category.
