Architecture students at AA Visiting School Slovenia (AAVS) have developed a ‘levitation suit’ that enables the wearer to sleep as if suspended in mid air. The suit was designed so that visitors to Cultural Centre of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) in rural Slovenia can spend the night there. The project was designed to promote “nanotourism” at the new centre.
GRAB THE ESSENTIALS
1:The suspends guests beneath a web of ropes and pulleys so they can twist and turn into any position while sleeping.
2: AAVS is an experimental teaching and research programme attached to the Architectural Association, London.
3: Nanotourism is a phrase used AAVS to describe “a participatory, locally oriented, bottom-up alternative”
