{"id":9773,"date":"2016-03-24T18:21:47","date_gmt":"2016-03-24T17:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travindy.com\/?p=9773"},"modified":"2016-03-24T18:21:47","modified_gmt":"2016-03-24T17:21:47","slug":"itp-seeks-participants-hotel-stakeholder-engagement-process-asia-pacific","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travindy.com\/news\/2016\/03\/itp-seeks-participants-hotel-stakeholder-engagement-process-asia-pacific\/","title":{"rendered":"ITP seeks participants for hotel stakeholder engagement process in Asia-Pacific"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9774 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/travindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/ITP-300dpi-600x222.jpg\" alt=\"International Tourism partnership Logo\" width=\"600\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travindy.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/ITP-300dpi-600x222.jpg 600w, https:\/\/travindy.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/ITP-300dpi-600x222-300x111.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0International Tourism Partnership is\u00a0facilitating a process to bring hoteliers and stakeholders together to identify and discuss the issues seen as the most pressing for the industry, this time with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>ITP, in partnership with stakeholder engagement specialists <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globescan.com\/\">GlobeScan<\/a>, has launched a six month project following the GRI G4 process which aims to engage over 200 external stakeholders through online surveys and telephone interviews to determine what social and environmental issues they feel are the most significant and relevant for the hotel sector.<\/p>\n<p>The results will inform an exclusive event in Hong Kong this September where hoteliers can meet and collaborate across these issues with a range of stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Taking part in this process will allow hoteliers to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain first hand insights into sustainability issues in the region from a wide number of stakeholders and hoteliers,<\/li>\n<li>Join an interactive and constructive discussion with industry peers on common issues,<\/li>\n<li>Connect with key industry actors and partners in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2014 labour rights issues and water stewardship were identified as the two most critical for the industry to address, and a stakeholder engagement event held during World Travel Market in London allowed hoteliers to interact directly with stakeholders in a collaborative environment to understand the issues and search for solutions. The process helped inform the direction for ITP\u2019s ongoing work as well as that of its member hotel companies and has led to meaningful relationships and ongoing engagement for all sides.<\/p>\n<p>On 27 September 2016, ITP will share the learning of the 2016 stakeholder interviews with a select audience of <a href=\"http:\/\/tourismpartnership.org\/members\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">ITP member hotel groups<\/a> and a selection of invited non-member companies and stakeholders at an event in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>External stakeholders include representatives from academic organisations, certification bodies, corporate customers, franchisees, government, industry bodies, sustainable business organisations, investors, owners, suppliers, trade unions and other bodies.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The event is especially beneficial for hotel companies seeking to expand or develop in the region, allowing them to spot potential issues and address them before they become a threat or risk to the business.<\/p>\n<p>Hotel groups and stakeholders wishing to be a part of the process and attend the exclusive event in September should\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:fran.hughes@bitc.org.uk?subject=ITP%20Stakeholder%20Engagement\">contact ITP Director Fran Hughes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0International Tourism Partnership is\u00a0facilitating a process to bring hoteliers and stakeholders together to identify and discuss the issues seen as the most pressing for the industry, this time with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
