In\u00a0Travel Weekly last month, Editor-in-Chief\u00a0Arnie Weissmann reported being told by Carnival Corp CEO Arnold Donald: &#8216;the time, effort and expense to launch Fathom has had a tremendous side benefit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.travelweekly.com\/Arnie-Weissmann\/Changing-the-conversation-about-cruising\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">It has helped change the conversation about cruising<\/a>. &#8216;No one&#8217;s talking about Concordia or Triumph anymore,&#8217; he said. &#8216;They&#8217;re talking about Fathom and Cuba.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone, it seems, got the memo. In an article for Skift,\u00a0Andrew Sheivachman wrote that &#8220;The companies want consumers to forget that cruise ships are enormous vessels capable of causing severe damage to the environment&#8221;, before revealing that &#8220;Last week, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings admitted\u00a0it was fined an unspecified amount by the State of Alaska for a series of environmental violations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h6>In Brief<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Data from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation\u00a0reveals that\u00a0Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line are the worst culprits for\u00a0cruise ship pollution off Alaska.<\/li>\n<li>Overall, there were 129 wastewater violations and 49 air pollution violations levied against cruise ships\u00a0from 2010 to 2014 in the waters off Alaska.<\/li>\n<li>Carnival Corp brands Princess Cruises and\u00a0Holland America Line were recorded as having\u00a0committed the\u00a0most wastewater violations over
