Plans are afoot to create the world\u2019s longest circular\u00a0hiking<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0route, the 3,<\/a>000 km Palmilhar Portugal (Walking Portugal).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed to encourage tourists off the beaten track and away from familiar (and oversubscribed) destinations such as Lisbon and the Algarve, the route will ultimately cross through 100 lesser-known\u00a0beauty spots<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0up, down and across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
