Amsterdam has desperately been trying to shake off its \u2018party capital\u2019 image – with limited success. After its 2023 campaign urging drunken British tourists to \u2018stay away\u2019 failed, the city is trialling a softer approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoping to attract \u201ca different type of visitor\u201d, according to a press release from the local authority, the new \u2018Renew Your View\u2019 campaign encourages tourists to see the city through a local\u2019s eyes.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking aim at those who \u201cseek sensation and vulgar entertainment\u201d at the city\u2019s Red Light District and \u2018coffee shops\u2019, it promotes a different side of the city<\/strong><\/a>, free from transgressive behaviour and rowdy bachelor parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign will start early next year and run until the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
