The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) have announced that\u00a0the\u00a0Mauritian Standard on Sustainable Tourism<\/em> (MS 165:2019), has gained GSTC-recognition status.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Mauritian Standard on Sustainable Tourism<\/em> \u2013 MS 165:2019, can be accessed\u00a0here<\/a>. The\u00a0Mauritian Standard on Sustainable Tourism<\/em> was developed to guide the sustainable development of the tourism industry in Mauritius, and is open to any tourism business or related activity in Mauritius to enhance their sustainability performance.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Achieving the GSTC-Recognised status means that a sustainable tourism standard has been reviewed by GSTC technical experts, and deemed equivalent to the GSTC Criteria for sustainable tourism. The aim of the GSTC programme is to use a common and clear definition of what ‘sustainable tourism’ means, as well as to reward genuine practitioners of sustainable tourism, through gaining certification, which in turn builds confidence and credibility with consumers that the business has at least, met minimum level sustainability performance.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
