The film, by\u00a0Brendan Fletcher and Warwick Thornton, premiered this week in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>However the film has also been criticised by some for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2015\/jul\/16\/our-indigenous-country-is-waiting-for-you-tourism-australia\" target=\"_blank\">being unrepresentative and lacking significant information to help visitors book<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h6>In Brief<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>The film was commissioned and funded by Tourism Australia as it seeks to address years of decline in the number of overseas visitors\u00a0seeking indigenous experiences.<\/li>\n<li>over the last 12 months, just 14 per cent of international tourists took part in some form of Aboriginal cultural experience.<\/li>\n<li>The film will be shown on international flights, at airports and in hotels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>In Depth<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage with\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winta.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">World Indigenous Tourism Alliance<\/a> on\u00a0their webpage.<\/li>\n<li>Read the 2012 study\u00a0\u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iba.gov.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/20130304ResearchReport_Demand-and-Supply-Issues-in-Indigenous-Tourism-A-Gap-Analysis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Demand and Supply Issues in Indigenous Tourism: A Gap Analysis<\/a>\u2019<\/li>\n<li>A new report by PATA and WINTA,<em> Indigenous Tourism &amp; Human Rights In Asia &amp; the Pacific Region<\/em> report is free to PATA members and is priced at US$50 for chapter members and non-members.
