S<\/span>antorini\u00a0es por excelencia paradigma de la belleza del\u00a0mar Egeo. Con dos millones de turistas al a\u00f1o es, despu\u00e9s de\u00a0Mikonos, el destino predilecto en\u00a0Grecia. Ahora, esta perla volc\u00e1nica ha lanzado la voz de alarma y quiere poner un techo a las visitas anuales, emulando en cierta manera a las\u00a0Baleares.<\/p>\n

Atascos permanentes en carreteras donde coches se entremezclan con motos, camiones y hasta mulas; problemas en el abastecimiento de agua potable o de electricidad, as\u00ed como en la gesti\u00f3n de los residuos son algunos de los s\u00edntomas de la saturaci\u00f3n que padece esta isla desde hace a\u00f1os.Santorini no ha podido hacer frente al crecimiento exponencial del n\u00famero de habitantes permanentes -desde 6.200 en 1971 hasta 25.000 en la actualidad- y a la llegada de unos dos millones de turistas anuales.<\/p>\n

Una de las primeras medidas para atajar la situaci\u00f3n ha sido limitar el n\u00famero de cruceros diarios que pueden amarrar en la isla, una iniciativa que ya ha empezado a funcionar a modo de programa piloto y que estar\u00e1 plenamente operativo en 2019. El objetivo es limitar a 8.000 las llegadas diarias de turistas de crucero -en la temporada alta alcanzan los 18.000-. Esto supone reducir el n\u00famero a unos cuatro al d\u00eda en lugar de los siete a ocho actuales.<\/p>\n
