S<\/span>eg\u00fan el Bar\u00f3metro del Organismo Mundial de Turismo,\u00a0m\u00e1s de 1.200 millones de personas viajaron para hacer turismo durante el 2016<\/strong>. Esta industria es una de las m\u00e1s importantes en todo el mundo y se estima que da trabajo a uno de cada once trabajadores y que\u00a0genera cerca del 11% del PIB mundial<\/strong>. Parece l\u00f3gico, pues, que todos los pa\u00edses quieran sacar partido, pero \u00bfa qu\u00e9 precio?<\/p>\n

En esta misma l\u00ednea, Soledad Morales, profesora de los Estudios de Econom\u00eda y Empresa de la UOC \u00a0remarca que esta forma de turismo \u00abes viable en todos los contextos, pa\u00edses y modalidades tur\u00edsticas\u00bb porque al\u00a0respetar a la poblaci\u00f3n local y distribuir los beneficios de manera m\u00e1s equitativa<\/strong>, se beneficia as\u00ed a las comunidades m\u00e1s desfavorecidas. En los pa\u00edses en v\u00eda de desarrollo, los grandes complejos hoteleros coexisten con proyectos o productos de\u00a0turismo comunitario responsable y sostenible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sin \u00e1nimo de fomentar el turismo de masas, la profesora de la UOC reconoce que estas dos formas de turismo no solamente pueden coexistir sino que incluso pueden llegar a ser complemenarias, idea que comparte Pablo D\u00edaz, quien considera que \u00abel turismo, cuando est\u00e1 m\u00e1s repartido, es menos perjudicial, y un turismo de masas controlado es necesario\u00bb.<\/p>\n
