The NATIVE Act will require federal agencies with tourism assets and responsibilities to include tribes and native organizations in national tourism efforts and strategic planning. In 2012, Odisha barred access to tribal areas for foreign tourists after tourism websites used pictures of scantily dressed Bonda and Dongaria tribals in a bid to attract tourists. The kidnapping of two Italian tourists by Maoists the same year also led to the decision to curtail access. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newindianexpress.com\/states\/odisha\/Odisha-Government-Working-on-New-Norms-for-Tribal-Tourism-Says-Minister\/2016\/01\/07\/article3215473.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">state government<\/a>\u00a0barred \u2018physical proximity\u2019 of tourists to tribals and entry into their homes.
