En los panfletos tur\u00edsticos es vendido como un ed\u00e9n de playas de arena fina y aguas cristalinas, donde el visitante es idolatrado para convertirse en rey (o reina) por una semana, o dos, si tienes suerte.<\/p>\n<p>La realidad de Canc\u00fan a nivel de destino, es bien distinta. Empecemos por explicar un poco la l\u00ednea divisoria inexistente f\u00edsicamente pero que tanto como turistas como residentes bien saben donde est\u00e1. Como se puede ver en el mapa, Canc\u00fan cuenta con la llamada Zona Hotelera, una isla en forma de \u20187\u2019 de 22 km de longitud situada sobre un fr\u00e1gil ecosistema de duna mar\u00edtima. La Zona Hotelera se encuentran delimitada por el mismo mar por un lado y por un r\u00edo de caimanes de agua mixta por otro. Aqu\u00ed las grandes avenidas son remodeladas cada 6 meses, las enormes explanadas de c\u00e9sped verde disponen de un sistema de continuo regad\u00edo y es f\u00e1cil encontrar m\u00e1s de 127 cadenas hoteleras internacionales. Cualquier hotel que te venga a la mente, seguro que tiene su hueco en esta l\u00ednea de costa que bien puede parecer una partida de monopoli a punto de terminar porque ya no quedan m\u00e1s hoteles que construir.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13333\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13333\" style=\"width: 368px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13333 \" src=\"https:\/\/travindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-08-at-11.47.09.png\" alt=\"Cancun map\" width=\"368\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travindy.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-08-at-11.47.09.png 340w, https:\/\/travindy.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-08-at-11.47.09-300x294.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 368px) 100vw, 368px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13333\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Las dos \u00e1reas de Canc\u00fan: Zona Hotelera &amp; Downtown (Google Maps)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Al otro lado de la laguna de caimanes nos encontramos con Canc\u00fan Downtown, os\u00e9ase la ciudad. Aqu\u00ed las calles est\u00e1n generalmente rotas, no existen apenas pasos de cebra o paradas de autob\u00fas, son un remolino de gente que va y viene, de coches que pasan, un bullicio de vida donde el d\u00eda contin\u00faa c\u00f3mo en cualquier urbe del mundo. En esta parte de Canc\u00fan, obviamente la que no sale en las revistas de viaje, es donde sin embargo se puede conocer la verdadera esencia de la ciudad. Aqu\u00ed son palpables los olores, los sabores m\u00e1s aut\u00e9nticos y los colores m\u00e1s vivos, pero sobretodo se llega a conocer la cara m\u00e1s humana de los residentes, relajados al hablar contigo ya que pueden evitar la cantinela que est\u00e1n obligados a repetir para recibirnos, como reyes y reinas, en la Zona Hotelera.<\/p>\n<p>La brusquedad de esta separaci\u00f3n entre la vida real y la realidad paralela vivida por el rey turista puede resultar un tanto despectiva y surrealista al principio, pero esta visi\u00f3n cambia r\u00e1pidamente cuando uno habla con la gente local. As\u00ed Vicente Ferreyra, director general de <a href=\"http:\/\/sustentur.com.mx\">Sustentur<\/a> la \u00fanica consultor\u00eda de turismo responsable en Quintana Roo, admite que \u201cpara nosotros es f\u00e1cil, cuando es temporada alta lo \u00fanico que tenemos que hacer para evitar las hordas de turistas es no acudir a las playas de la Zona Hotelera\u201d. Lo primero que pens\u00e9 fue en la presi\u00f3n social que ha sucumbido los vecindarios de Baleares y Barcelona este verano, ojal\u00e1 evitar las calles abarrotadas de turistas y encontrar un poco de paz entre el bullicio fuera tan sencillo para ellos como sortear una zona de tu ciudad as\u00ed sin m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>El modelo tur\u00edstico de Canc\u00fan, sin duda tiene sus defectos megal\u00edticos ya que para empezar no tiene en cuenta los impactos ambientales de un desarrollo a tal escala sobre un ecosistema tan fr\u00e1gil, ya sin hablar de los problemas asociados con las fugas econ\u00f3micas a otros pa\u00edses asociadas al sistema de los \u201ctodo incluido\u201d. Sus creadores, all\u00e1 en los a\u00f1os 70, desde luego no predijeron la inmensa cantidad de recursos necesarios para el funcionamiento del monopoli de hoteles de lujo \u2013 seguro que tampoco pensaron que casi 50 a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde el lugar contar\u00eda con <a href=\"http:\/\/cancun.travel\/en\/hotels\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">m\u00e1s de 32,000 plazas hoteleras<\/a> -. Pero quiz\u00e1s s\u00ed estuvieron acertados en crear una divisi\u00f3n imaginaria, por el bien de sus residentes, entre la vida cotidiana y una realidad paralela donde da igual de donde vengas que
