Hilton, WWF partner to improve sustainability in hospitality industry

Hilton and WWF have announced a three year partnership to develop a range of different sustainability programmes. These range from water stewardship, sustainable seafood and renewable energy to improving waste reduction.

GRAB THE ESSENTIALS

1: All learnings from the partnership will be integrated into LightStay, Hilton’s proprietary environmental performance measurement and reporting platform, which is available to all hotels.

2: Hilton has reduced its waste output by 26.8 percent, energy use by 13.6 percent, carbon output by 20.2 percent and water use by 13.1 percent since 2009.

3: Hilton announced in April that it would commence the begin ending the use of cages for egg-laying chickens in its global food supply chain.
