Australian ecoresort to run from off-grid solar power

(energy business news) A Western Australian eco-tourism resort has begun sourcing its electricity from an off-grid solar power station. Mackerel Island Tourist Resort, off the coast of Onslow, now has a 325 kilowatt system comprising 1200 solar panels. Power is stored in 512 lithium ion batteries so that power is available at night for use at the resort.
